A Note From Piers

I'm back in LA this week but it’s not all glamour. I host my global show from the back of a small van parked on the driveway while I’m here. We do it at a time of the morning too hostile for even the most voracious smoothie-guzzling joggers. And this time I’ve unwittingly travelled with an unwanted staple of the British autumn.

“I haven’t had a cold for an entire year,” I proudly boasted at home, precisely eight hours before the onset of a vile fever and sore throat.

The show must go on, of course, and I'm glad it did. We had some bangers this week. My personal highlight was an interview with five-day White House press secretary Katie Zacharia and 11-day White House press secretary Anthony Scaramucci, whose unwanted world record she implausibly smashed.

Next week I head to Washington DC for a week of special Uncensored shows on the US midterm elections. A quick trip to LA’s legendary Muscle Beach outdoor gym in Santa Monica this week brought to mind one of its most famous graduates – and one of the most interesting politicians in US history…
